Ready to retire Webinar for Federal Public Employees (1–2 years away)

This workshop is tailored to federal public employees who are 1–2 years away from retirement and aims to finalize pre-retirement preparations (date, pension options, forms, etc.).

Details

  • Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. or 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • Location: Online (half-day) or in person

What sets us apart

This short session, Ready to retire Webinar for Federal Public Employees (3.5 hours) is offered to employees considering retirement within the next two years and who want to complete their preparation. The webinar is tailored to Federal Public Service employees and covers the following topics:

  • Choosing your retirement date
  • Key parts of the PSSA presentation
  • Financial considerations
  • Importance of cash flow analysis and budgeting
  • Income comparison (work vs. retirement)
  • Decumulation (drawdown strategies, RRSPs, Taxes, etc.)
  • Canada Pension Centre administration (Forms)

Note: We strongly recommend participating in this training after having completing the Pre-retirement Training Workshop or Webinars (5 modules over 2 days or 4 half-days).

Federal Public Service employees (and their spouses) who are 1 or 2 years from retirement and wish to participate.

Private Group

  • The registration cost for a private webinar group is $1, 200 + taxes
  • The registration cost for a private In-Class workshop varies by province due to travel and living expenses per region.
  • If your spouse wishes to participate, no additional fees are charged for their registration.
  • The workshop requires a minimum of 8 participants (excluding spouses).

Public Group

  • The cost of individual registration for a public webinar is $ 185 + taxes.
  • If your spouse wishes to participate, no additional fees are charged for their registration.
  • The workshop requires a minimum of 8 participants (excluding spouses).

Private Group Registration

If you want to organize a private workshop or webinar Ready to retire within your organization, please send your information to: retraite.canada.retirement@cegepmv.ca.

Public Group Registration

Group Workshop Cancellation

  • The group representative may cancel or reschedule a group workshop without incurring a fee by giving a written notice to the Cégep Marie-Victorin by e-mail at retraite.canada.retirement@cegepmv.ca at least 10 working days prior to the workshop delivery date; and
  • If the group representative does not provide a minimum of 10 working days' notice to cancel a group workshop, the Cégep Marie-Victorin will be charge the full price of the workshop and claim reimbursed for non-refundable travel and living expenses incurred, if any.

Individual Workshop Cancellation

  • The participant cancel or reschedule their participation to a workshop at no cost by giving a written notice, by email, to the Cégep Marie-Victorin at retraite.canada.retirement@cegepmv.ca at least 10 working days before the workshop start date;
  • If failure to cancel within 10 working days, the organization shall assume full cost of workshop.
  • The Cégep Marie-Victorin may cancel or reschedule a workshop due to insufficient registrations, by giving a written notice, by email, to the Identified User, at least 10 working days before the start of the workshop. If a participant requires travelling to attend a workshop, we recommend travel and living arrangements be booked and confirmed , only within the 10 working days prior to the scheduled workshop in order to avoid additional fees to his/her department.
  • In the event that the Cégep Marie-Victorin does not provide a minimum of 10 working days' notice to cancel or reschedule a workshop, the Cégep Marie-Victorin will reimburse the participants its non-refundable travel and living expenses, if any.

Note: If the Government of Canada or the Cégep Marie-Victorin has to cancel a group or individual workshop due to an unforeseeable of uncontrollable event, such as a strike, virus attack, pandemic, power or technical failure, no cancellation charges will be applied.
